The Story Behind Our Annual 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways

Every December, our team kicks off one of my absolute favorite traditions: our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways.

How It All Began

Twenty-twenty—a year none of us will ever forget. During the height of the pandemic, I watched many of my favorite local businesses struggle. These were shops and restaurants who poured their hearts into their work, yet found themselves facing circumstances beyond their control. I wanted to help.

I reached out to several of them with a simple offer: I’ll purchase your products at full price, and I’d love to give them away on social media to help bring more awareness to your business. No discount, no donation; just an ask to reshare my giveaway.

I can’t even begin to describe the responses I received. The gratitude, the emotion, the sense of community—those conversations blessed me far more than I ever expected. What began as a gesture of support quickly became a reminder of why small businesses matter so much in our communities.

Why We Continue This Tradition

As a business owner myself, I know firsthand how stressful it can feel when sales slow down but the expenses don’t. There are moments when you question everything, and moments when one caring customer gives you the encouragement you desperately needed.

That’s why this event means so much to me. It’s more than giveaways—it’s a celebration of local talent, creativity, and resilience. It’s a way to shine a light on the hardworking people behind the product, services, and places we love. And every year, it fills me with so much joy to help introduce our audience to new favorites within our community.

Consider choosing a few local small businesses to support. Your purchase might be the very thing that helps them end the year strong.
